Magic and Magical Realism Writing Prompts for January 15, 2022, Free PDF
This month we may all be wishing for a little magic in our pandemic lives. Wouldn't a magic wand to wave away all the coronavirus be just ever so nice? Or anything short of a worldwide cure might also be pretty good. The free instant download opens at the next link. Click for your own copy.
Written answers might be magical or magical realism. There are six picture prompts with text ideas to help get started, or then there are six picture-only prompts for those who are inspired by images. Included is one coloring page for any children who might be present at the session, also. The pages may be printed in black and white or in color. Some people may be clever enough to use tablets for electronic responses.
Some people get Tarot card readings, and some people do the readings. Some people have no clue what is involved so this prompt might not be selected by them. It is interesting to hear about readings, and I recently reviewed a 10th-anniversary edition of the book The True
Nature of Tarot: Your Path to Personal Empowerment by Diane Wing, M.A. although I do not understand much about the process. It is probably why this theme is on my mind. I know people who enjoy having readings or even take them seriously. Perhaps this prompt will help some people enjoy a quick write.
Also, we all hear about Chakras and crystals and so on. Maybe you've seen the jewelry and not realized what it was all about. So this image shows some of the items that might help with healing or energy and might cause some people to form writing ideas.
It is possible to purchase Harry Potter wands on Amazon and other sites, and so we all see them online. Good old 'arry. I notice in many British films there is an 'arry and love how it is pronounced (Harry).
This prompt is about deciding which want you would want to select to cure the world of evils, or suggests you might want to design your own. Which would you like?
What if you were given a crystal ball? Wouldn't we all like to have a working model? What would you like to see in it?
There are two more prompts in the PDF I'll let you find. And for the children who might be dragged along willingly or unwillingly, a picture to color.
We hope you find some inspiration from the prompts.
Thank you for reading,
The prompts are on Carolyn Howard-Johnson's Sharing with Writers and Readers Blog and post the 15th of each month.
