Nina Amir Wants More for Your Book Than the Law of Attraction!

Can You Attract A Bestselling Book?

By Nina Amir
(This post is part of the virtual book tour for Creative Visualization for Writers)

Wouldn't it be nice if you could attract a bestselling book? You know...use the Law of Attraction to get your book on the bestseller list?

You would think about what you desire—bestseller status for your book—imagine what it would feel like—Whoo hoo!—and miraculously your book would appear on a bestseller list.

While some people advocate this approach to attracting what you want, I believe there is more to the equation. You have to do something to realize your desires.

When it comes to creating a bestseller, of course, you have to write a marketable book. That means a book that sells. After that, you need to promote the book once it is released. It's a rare book that ends up as a bestseller simply by word of mouth.

All that said, don't throw out the idea that your mental and emotional exercises won't help your book succeed.

Visualize Success

In fact, creative visualization, which involves consciously daydreaming about what you want and imagining what it would be like to have it, works. That's why athletes and business people visualize the results they want to achieve.

For example, an Olympic swimmer sits quietly by himself and imagines every stroke of the race and his fingers hitting the wall before anyone else. He also imagines himself feeling tired the last lap but summoning the energy to speed ahead of his opponents.

When he visualizes the race in this way, his mind fires off signals that make his muscles react as if he was swimming the race. The mind knows no difference between his imagined race and the real one.

A businesswoman imagines how she will conduct herself during an important meeting. She sees herself successfully fielding difficult questions and negotiating the results she desires.

Again, the brain sees her visualization as if it is a real meeting. It fires off signals to her body to remain calm and centered. And it helps her entrain her desired responses in her mind and body.

It's no different when it comes to creating a bestseller. Visualize yourself:
  • Feeling comfortable and confident speaking about your book to a large audience.
  • Responding to comments on guest posts you've written for well-trafficked blogs.
  • Getting great reviews on Amazon.
  • Seeing increasing book sales weekly.
  • Sharing beautiful quote cards from your book on social networks.
  • Watching your book move up the Amazon Top 100 list in its category...until it hits #1.
If you visualize these scenarios, and you allow yourself to connect emotionally to the images in your mind, your mind fires as if you were having these experiences. It tells your body and your unconscious mind that you can do this!

Take Action

There is missing piece in the Law of Attraction equation. It is action.

Visualization helps you achieve your desired results, but you still have to do something. The swimmer still has to get in the pool and race. The businesswoman still has to go into the meeting and negotiate.

You have to, first, write a book that will sell, and then you have to help it sell. You have to promote it.

Your creative visualizations help you do these things. They train your mind and body to write and market your book—and to succeed.

No More Negative Thoughts

Here's another benefit to creative visualization: Your visualizations counteract your negative thoughts—My book will never become a bestseller. And I'm not good at marketing.—and beliefs—Writers shouldn't have to promote their books. Art and sales should never be mixed. When you imagine yourself with a bestselling book of your own in your hands and you see yourself in your mind's eye doing what is necessary to make that happen, you convince your mind it's true.

That means you reduce or eliminate the negative thoughts and limiting beliefs that have held you back. You retrain your mind to believe the positive thoughts and unlimited beliefs associated with the success you imagined.

With a more positive mindset in general, you will have a much easier time driving your book to bestseller status.
