Three Cheers for Amazon's Newly Redesigned Author Central Page.

I am sharing this post by Lois W. Stern, a regular contributor on my #TheNewBookReview page and avid advocate for authors there too.  It's all part of her #AuthorsHelpingAuthors project. You'll find details on how to utilize her free aids for yourself there at www.thenewbookreview.blogspot.com.  And because your Author Central Page is so important,  I'm thrilled that she has written this reminder! Did you know that Amazon sells 50% of the world's paper books and 70% of the world's digital books?

Three Cheers for Amazon

By Lois W. Stern

Doing my Happy Dance 'cause Amazon has done something for us authors that I'm really excited to share! So if you haven't created or updated your own Author Central page, why not jump on the bandwagon and do it now. Here's why:

They've created a whole new look for our Author Central pages.

Aside from a nice clean look, under the 'MY BOOK' category, you can now add both the titles of your own books and also titles of other authors’ books you have particularly enjoyed. Then, as if by magic, a picture of the cover of each book  pops up next to your recommendation.

Amazon gives you several categories (listed below), so there’s room for you to recommend a number of different books. And just like eye candy, seeing those colorful book covers can keep us riveted!

Categories for your books:

My most talked about book

If you want to get lost in a story, I recommend my book

My book I wish more readers knew about

If you are new to my work, I recommend

Categories for books by other authors

If you want to get lost in a story

A book I couldn’t put down’

if you like my work I think you will like

Nothing is perfect and there is one caveat that needs redesign: Under each posted book I see the following:

I have already called Amazon to explain that we prefer to sell paperback editions of our books, and asked that right under Kindle Edition they post:
                                       Paperback Edition with its link

If you agree, perhaps you also can go to Amazon's HELP page and send them a note, or give them a call. That's how we make things happen.

A footnote from Lois

I invite you to visit my Tales2Inspire Author Central page here. You will note that I limited my 'Books by other authors' recommendations to those who previously had won
Tales2Inspire awards and went on to publish full length books. But if you are a fan of Tales2Inspire books, I'd be more than pleased if you choose to recommend one of them on your Author Central page!

The Tales2Inspire 2023 contest is off and running. Both aspiring and accomplished writers are welcome to enter - for FREE. Click for details, and be sure to follow all instructions carefully.
