The Perfect Holiday Gift for a Writing Teen

Tupelo is a literary magazine I submit to frequently and this news seemed like a good way to share the good they do for writers. And it comes just in time for holiday giving! Do you know a young person interested in writing? Talk about the gift that keeps giving!

Thank you Tupelo!

Change the World

Empower a Teen Writer

As excellent writing is fundamental to every single challenge that today’s teens will face in college and their lives beyond, now Tupelo Press extends an equally profound commitment to nurturing teen writing with our signature online Teen Writing Program. The curtain goes up in January 2023.

Students will explore and develop their writing potential with expert personal attention from a faculty consisting of extraordinary and diverse published authors and teachers, all hand-picked by the senior editorial staff of Tupelo Press. In our nine years of experience working with teens in Charlottesville, Virginia, we've witnessed the passion teens have for contemporary, diverse voices, and for writing and leadership opportunities.

We have received powerful and positive anticipation for this project, including a $10,000 matching grant to help us launch in January. We are committed to making these classes broadly available. We've spent the past year building student and teacher resources to extend our support to every classroom in the country. In 2023, as we build our scholarship program, we commit to one fully funded scholarship to every workshop.

Your gift of $129 constitutes one full scholarship. Each scholarship means one additional fully paid tuition for one of our six-week-long writing courses. In 2022 all cash donations to charities are 100% deductible for people who

itemize.
