Through her I've learned how the format and approach changes when writing for different age and grade levels. There's so much more to consider than adult fiction.

I see writing in this market akin to writing a poem in which the content is pared to the essentials. What is not there speaks as loudly as what is there.

Janet RiehlJanet Grace Riehlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03921731725804450430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14401984.post-17000609064600877322010-03-11T14:36:46.706-08:002010-03-11T14:36:46.706-08:00I'm glad people find this article helpful, and...I'm glad people find this article helpful, and share it, with needed credit, of course.Vivian Zabelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06129178812565073972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14401984.post-82200586524264037452010-03-11T14:27:41.262-08:002010-03-11T14:27:41.262-08:00What an amazing post! When I wrote "The Angry Little Boy," I ended up doing a fair amount of research about fires, how people are injured in fires, fire safety, etc -- then the whole bit about the fire ended up in backstory -- but I needed to do it or I wouldn't have had a solid picture in my head about what had happened.Margaret Fielandhttp://www.margaretfieland.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14401984.post-9728225404074024872010-03-10T15:16:40.173-08:002010-03-10T15:16:40.173-08:00Who knew?
