The picture prompts are on this page for quick writing practice. Having to write quickly helps "clear the junk away" according to many writers so they may then move on to their important writing pieces. Here are some ideas.

A story you wrote has become a play. Describe the opening scene.

A crystal ball is yours for an hour. It will reveal the answer to one question. What do you want it to tell you? 

Writing Prompts Set One, Prompts One Through Three for Quick Writes

Allow 15-20 minutes for writing and a minute or two for editing. Then, if in a group, share the writing pieces for others to hear what you thought about the prompts. Move on to more serious work such as critiquing and editing after this warm-up activity.
