Extending the Life of a Review: One blog then another

I am onto this blog thing. My new blog, The New Book Review, is designed to do one of the things that a writer seldom gets the chance to do: Extend the life of a review. It also gives readers a place to go for a look at books they otherwise might not see because these are tolerant reviews. No one judges these books by their covers, by the press they're printed on or by how many bestseller lists they're on.

Oh, the power!

You'll see there authors like S. K. Hamilton, Everett Beal, Janet Elaine Smith, Gene Garrison, Joyce Anthony and Yvonne Perry. There is a review of Whale Song by prolific reviewer/contributor Mayra Calvani. You'll even find an occasional review by me or reviews of one of my books.

So, readers are invited to visit occasionally to find new reading fare. Authors are encouraged to peruse the guidelines and submit their reviews. They will also be expected to let others know about the review when it is posted for the more people who visit and browse, the more every author benefits.

No, there is no charge, but please, please follow the guidelines and format. You do want me to have time to edit my "Sharing with Writers" newsletter, write my next how-to book and (sigh!) follow my inpspiration to a new poem or two, don't you?

Very best,

Carolyn Howard-Johnson, author THIS IS THE PLACE; HARKENING: A COLLECTION OF STORIES REMEMBERED; TRACINGS, a chapbook of poetry; and two how to books, THE FRUGAL BOOK PROMOTER: HOW TO DO WHAT YOUR PUBLISHER WON'T; and THE FRUGAL EDITOR: PUT YOUR BEST BOOK FORWARD TO AVOID HUMILIATION AND ENSURE SUCCESS.
